REBUILD ST FILLAN'S - Survey Summary and Recommendations
Phase 1
The proposal taken from the extensive survey looks to achievethe replacement and repair in the following areas:
Roof Replacement Works
Replacement with Welsh slate, inclusive of lead flashings, chimney repairs,
repointing, decorative coating removal and replacement
Priority Areas:
Presbytery House, Chapel, Side Chapel (former School building- external elevations)
Removal of non-breathable paintwork localised stone repair, re-pointing, and
decorating using a compatible masonry system.
Priority Areas:
Presbytery House, North & East Elevations Chapel – East & South East, Side
Chapel (former School, now Hall,south elevation)
Internal Works –
Repairs/ making safe to plaster ceiling finishes in the Chapel.
Exploration works to the window surrounds within the Side Chapel (former school -
ground floor).
Treatment of timber within the three loft spaces.
Repair/ partial rebuilding of the Presbytery (north) chimney breasts.
External Works –
Car park drainage due-diligence – CCTV.
Provision for excavating and connecting downpipes underground
