REBUILD FUND: thank you to those who have generously donated towards the costs of the rebuilding of St Fillan’s - over £1,150 was given last week. More than £1,000 has already been donated over the past two weeks via the new QR Code.

THANK YOU for you for turning out in numbers at Rebuild events last week. Tuesday’s Parish Meeting in the school was well attended and achieved its aim: to inform of the extent of the urgent work in hand, present an accurate picture of the parish financial situation at present and encourage the need for continued fund raising. Thanks, also, in this regard to all those who supported the Fundraiser Clothing Sale and Raffle last Sunday afternoon, apart from being a most enjoyable social event it raised more than £1,200 for our Rebuild Fund. I sense the Rebuild project is at last underway. Preparation for the renovation works in the hall (upstairs) have begun this week. Together, onwards and upwards, step by step!

ST JOHN OGILVIE: today, 10th March 1615, this holy and courageous Jesuit priest was martyred for his perseverance in the Catholic faith, at the Tolbooth, Glasgow Cross (High St) He was canonised by Pope Paul VI in 1976. A local saint, with close connections to this part of Renfrewshire, whose example still inspires and whose intercession is required more than ever in our own times. Please visit his shrine on the left of the altar for prayer today.

Happy Mothering Sunday today to all mothers – this special day of remembrance always takes place on the Fourth Sunday of Lent.                                         AMcF
