October: month of the Holy Rosary: prayer for peace and the world mission of Church. 

Vigil Mass (Saturday) 5.00pm. Holy Mass at 9.30 & 11.00am on Sunday. 

Wednesday: Holy Day of Obligation - ALL SAINTS DAY: Mass at 9.30am & 7.00pm. 

Thursday: All Souls Day – Three Masses will be celebrated today. At 7.30am and again at 9.30am in the morning, and in the evening at 7.00pm for the souls of all the faithful departed. Visitsto the graves of loved ones is strongly encouraged. For such, a plenary indulgence is granted, under the usual conditions.

 

Weekday Masses: this week, Tuesday & (First)Friday at 9.30am.

Requiem Mass for the late Bill Campbell on Saturday at 9.30am. May he rest in peace.

 

Confessions (Sacrament of Reconciliation & Penance) on Saturdays at 4.30pm and again immediately after Vigil Mass on request.

 

Your prayers, please for our parish family: Eileen Reynolds and Paul Kearney -their carers, those in hospital and our residential homes, including the staff and for all suffering in mind and body today: Lord, bless them with your grace and peace.

RECENTLY DIED: Bill Campbell, Betty Wishart, Cathie Derry, Kenneth Lethorn, Peter Devine, Mary Shanahan and Mary Balmer.

BUIDING FUND: special collection next Sunday (first Sunday of the month)

 

NOVEMBER: month of prayer for the souls of the faithful departed, the Holy Souls is about to begin. Your participation (attentive prayer) in the offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the greatest act of faith and love one can make forthose who have died. They may rely on our prayers, as part of the communion of saints.  Please take a November Remembrance (list and envelope) home with you. You may wish to bring the completed-list back to the Mass you take part in on All Saints/All Souls Day or as soon as you are able. These can be placed in the basket before the lectern. The envelopes are then opened and placed in the burse on the altar. Holy Mass will be offered each day during November for those whose names are included in these remembrance lists. Your donation-enclosed is for the offering of such November Masses and is gratefully appreciated.

 

RACE NIGHT: fundraiser event for new laptops for our StFillan’s Primary School will take place on Friday 3rdNovember at 7pm in Linwood (Peter Scarff Social Club - PA3 3AP)  Tickets for this event will be on sale after Masses this weekend.

 

MISSION SUNDAY: the special collection for Missio(Propagation of the Faith) last Sunday amounted to £793. Thank you for your continued generosity. Some Mission magazine, still available at door – please take one home with you.                                                        AMcF
