BUILDING WORKS around side porch and toilets moved forward this week with skilled help of plumbers and plasterers.  It is hoped that the joinery works – still outstanding in that area, will be concluded in the week-ahead. Then the major building works, following the survey, will begin.  Step by step, it will be achieved.  Thank you to all those who have recently completed gift aid/ standing orders and to one parishioner for a generous donation of £500 –in support of the above.

SAFEGUARDING: new course for church volunteers. Training dates available: next Tuesday, 26th September, at St Mary’s Hall, Houston St, Greenock and Saturday 7th October, at 10am at St Mirin’s Cathedral Hall, Paisley. Please endeavour to attend above, if required.  Thank you for your continued commitment.

PRAYER FOR THE SYNOD (October, Rome)

We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.  With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts; teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it. We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.  Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.  Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.  All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.  Amen.
